Hello Everyone! Thanks for visiting the website! Hope it is useful and informative! Here is the 'mission' for Rwanda...


I and 7 others will be travelling to Butare, Rwanda in early June educating high school kids about AIDS/HIV. It is through an organization called Edinburgh Global Partnerships (http://www.egp.org.uk) which is run through Edinburgh University. EGP advocates for charity and community development both locally and abroad. Throughout the year every student involved with the organization has to participate in 'Community Links' including both full day community and conservation projects. In Rwanda we will be working with Rwandan medical students studying at the National University of Rwanda through an organization there called MEDSAR. We go to 8 different high schools and meet up with anti-AIDS clubs there. We, with the med students, help educate the kids about AIDS, HIV, and general sex education. Similar AIDS education programs were set up in Uganda in previous years and have proven to be extremely successful. Our group fundraising target is $6,500 and all of that money goes directly into the community and the project and none of it will go into administrative costs.
